KEMRON’s Applied Technologies Group provides research, development and evaluation of innovative and existing processes for the treatment of hazardous wastes. For over 15 years, KEMRON has been in the forefront in the development of testing programs designed to simulate both new and proven potential full-scale processes to the extent possible on the laboratory scale. KEMRON's research and development personnel draw upon direct experience with full-scale treatment processes to ensure that laboratory evaluations accurately simulate potential full-scale operating conditions.
KEMRON is an independent evaluator of potential treatment options and is able to provide unbiased testing for a broad range of proprietary and non-proprietary processes. In this capacity, KEMRON has developed strong working relationships with a wide range of process and reagent vendors, as well as full-scale contractors, in an effort to accurately evaluate the various technologies available. KEMRON has completed over 2,500 treatability studies across the
United States
and internationally for private and industrial clients, PRP committees, attorneys, environmental consultants, and governmental agencies. KEMRON is well known for our expertise in treatability testing using innovative technologies to treat liquid and solid hazardous waste. KEMRON has been a major participant in the EPA Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) Program for the past 12 years.
KEMRON's treatability studies are recognized nationwide as being innovative, comprehensive, and extremely cost competitive. Furthermore, KEMRON's technology evaluation services are recognized as being the most knowledgeable in the industry. Our success in performing treatability studies is attributed to the combination of talents assembled in the
Atlanta
facilities which includes remediation specialists, geotechnical and environmental engineers, environmental scientists and consultants.
Treatability studies performed by KEMRON often include the following:
- Stabilization / Solidification / Immobilization
- Oxidation Treatment
- Sludge Dewatering
- Water Treatment
- Column Studies
- Biological Treatment (aerobic and anaerobic)
- Incineration
- Thermal Treatment
- Soil Washing / Soil
Flushing
- Chemical Dehalogenation / Dechlorination
Our facilities are designed not only to perform routine treatability testing, but also to simulate innovative technologies through the direction of the client and through the design capabilities of KEMRON. As an independent laboratory, KEMRON is able to provide impartial comparison and verification of the applicability of virtually any treatment technology.
KEMRON is also certified to handle and treat radioactive or mixed wastes. KEMRON’s facility is designed to handle mixed radioactive materials and has been designed specifically for bench-scale testing. KEMRON’s expertise treatment comes from years of experience with a wide range of contaminated radioactive material types.
While KEMRON has historically focused on providing primarily treatability testing services, this focus has expanded to involve significant field oversight and troubleshooting. KEMRON’s field experience is primarily obtained through the individual experience of key employees with years of field experience, including the oversight of numerous pilot-scale and full-scale remediation projects. This experience is used by KEMRON both to improve the ability of bench-scale testing to mimic full-scale approaches, and to ensure that full-scale application of the chosen technology is performed as directed by the results of the treatability study. KEMRON’s field experience provides the expertise necessary to carry projects through from the bench-scale to the pilot-scale and on to full-scale remediation. Project summaries outlining some of KEMRON’s field experience are available upon request.
