Environmental Laborer/Technician - Mississippi

KEMRON Environmental Services is seeking an Environmental Laborer/Technician for overall environmental remediation work for a temporary position on a project in Mississippi. The duties may include the following: Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in environmental remediation construction projects; perform manual work in remediation of contaminated sites; Shovel contaminated material from around structures or areas unreachable by heavy equipment; Fine grade fill to grades given by foreman, supervisor or project manager; Clear and grub areas, Operate chain saw safely, fall trees safely, operate chipper as required; Excavate and fill trenches and ditches; Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards; Material handling and storage; Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials; and Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Senior Project Manager – Atlanta, GA

KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc. has immediate full-time openings for Response Managers on Emergency Response projects. Candidates must have at least 10 years of direct on-scene response experience in the clean-up of hazardous substances, oil and other contaminants or pollutants at a site, to include the development of site safety plans, heavy equipment operation and field construction, or other discipline directly related to the requirements of the contract. One (3) years of the 10 years must be in a capacity of site project manager, managing and supervising multi-disciplinary response personnel and subcontractors. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, i.e., physical, chemical or biological science, engineering, or construction management from an accredited college or university is a plus. Five (5) years of direct on-scene response experience in the clean-up of hazardous substances, oil and other contaminants or pollutants at a site, to include the development of site safety plans, AHAs, understanding heavy equipment operation and field construction, management of construction including concrete and vertical construction a plus.

IN ADDITION, Candidates must also have the following:
  • Three (3) years’ experience as a supervisory responder for emergency response actions involving hazardous substances, oil and other contaminants or pollutants at a site. Includes having experience in oil, petroleum, and hazardous substance disposal regulations, including, at a minimum but not limited to, correctly completing hazardous waste manifests; experience in applying analytical information required for waste profiling, profile preparation and assignment of wastes into their proper regulatory classifications; experience in hazardous materials transportation regulations.
  • Experience in identification and labeling of proper shipping containers, determining correct shipping labels and hazardous waste marks on containers, assign hazard class, group and proper shipping name to the wastes; experience in determining placarding needs for hazardous materials transportation in accordance with US DOT regulations.
  • Experience in preparing written technical reports covering all aspects of removal operations, including but not limited to, hazardous evaluation, waste profiling, transportation and disposal, data evaluation, and day-to-day summary of site operations; experience managing and insuring proper execution of multiple simultaneous subcontracts of varying type and complexity.
  • Experience serving as contractor point-of-contact with subcontractors; experience negotiating and resolving subcontractor disputes; experience with site cost management systems used to track and document site costs on a daily basis.
  • Experience preparing daily cost reports; experience analyzing OSHA health and safety regulations regarding hazardous waste site and general construction site operations; experience preparing and modifying site specific health and safety plans in accordance with EPA and OSHA regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience serving as a site safety officer including in the application of theory of operation, calibration and use of field screening instrumentation such as organic vapor analyzers, combustible gas indicators, toxic gas meters, portable gas chromatographs, pH/Conductivity meters, and radiation monitors to measure the presence of chemical, explosive and radiological hazards at cleanup sites and experience interpreting data and evaluating hazards from survey results.
  • Experience with QAQC of projects. US Army Corp of Engineers QCM certification a plus.

Program Chemist – Nationwide

Responsibilities to be fulfilled in a fast-paced, consulting-services work environment include: Developing and implementing quality assurance and quality control procedures for environmental data collection and data analysis programs; Developing and directing data collection and data management activities; Preparing written Quality Assurance Project Plans for environmental data collection projects utilizing the UFP-QAPP format; Identifying appropriate laboratory methods for environmental sample analyses; Communicating directly with outside laboratories regarding analytical methods and data quality issues; Validating laboratory data quality in accordance with current EPA National Functional Guidelines and writing validation reports to document data quality and usability; Evaluating and describing environmental data quality in the context of project-specific data uses and requirements; and Maintaining and implementing effective compliance and corrective action procedures. Duties include safely operating multiple types of heavy equipment of various sizes and weights to establish required grades and cuts within acceptable tolerances for environmental remediation construction. In addition, position will perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, assist with installation and maintenance of traffic control devices and assist laborers and technicians as requested.
