Smokey Mountain Smelters Site Remediation
In September 2022, KEMRON was pleased to receive the award of the $3.1M remedial action project at the former Smokey Mountain Smelters Site in Knoxville, TN.
KEMRON will consolidate existing waste on-site, install a geocomposite cap (comprised of a GCL and 60 mil HDPE liner) over the waste, and perform 2 rounds of injections to adjust geochemistry to oxidize/immobilize metals in groundwater.
